Welcome to
The Guernsey Biological Records Centre
Our work
The GBRC collects, manages and shares information about all aspects of Guernsey’s wildlife, ecology and natural environment.
Our aims
To provide data services to support the monitoring and protection of biodiversity and to act as an evidence base for land, marine, and freshwater management issues.
Our values
- Making biological data accessible
- Providing an evidence-base for informed decision-making
- Encouraging stewardship and awareness of local biodiversity
How to submit or access data
We are currently working on a new system that will allow records to be submitted directly via an online portal. In the meantime, if you have any queries please contact us.
Recording is not just for specialists!
We are just as interested in observations of common species as we are in rare or enigmatic species.
If you’re not sure what you’re looking at, don’t worry. Our amazing team of expert verifiers can confirm any records submitted – you can also share what you find with the community on the Guernsey Wildlife Facebook page.
What is that thing?
Have you found something interesting, unusual or that you can’t identify? Drop us an email and we’ll see if we can help.
